VCW was established in 1996 as Virginia Championship Wrestling by “Big Daddy” Ronald Nowel. Through the years, VCW made a name for itself as the leading independent professional wrestling organization in Virginia, producing hundreds of wrestling events and launching the careers of many wrestling stars.
In the late ’90s and early 2000s Travis Bradshaw stepped in and became the new promoter of VCW, eventually rebranding it as Vanguard Championship Wrestling.
In recent years, VCW was able to secure a weekly television show on FOX 43 and expand to bigger and better venues for live events, including the NorVa and the Norfolk Masonic Temple.
Looking to the future, VCW continues expansion into new and exciting locales, while bringing their loyal fans the best wrestling action anywhere in the country.
VCW aims to bring you the most exciting, energetic and thrilling wrestling on the East Coast. With a combination of bright young stars and the legends we all grew up with, VCW is poised to be the next big thing in professional wrestling.
